Game terms & EULA
The terms for playing Keeplings, including online access, fair play and the Early Access reset.
Last updated: 15 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Symbiosa Games, based in France, for the Keeplings game and its online services. Contact us at [email protected]. Publisher and website-host information is on our legal information page.
Early Access progress will be reset when version 1.0 launches. Your purchase of the game carries over; your gameplay progress does not. See section 4 before buying or playing during Early Access.
1. Your agreement
Read these terms before accepting them through Steam or another acceptance screen we provide. They apply to your use of Keeplings once accepted. If you do not agree, do not accept or start using the game; any purchase refund is governed by the applicable refund rules and your statutory rights.
You must meet Steam’s minimum-age requirements and the legal requirements for entering this agreement where you live. If you need a parent or guardian’s permission, obtain it before accepting or playing. The game’s age rating is separate from these requirements.
Steam is operated by Valve. The Steam Subscriber Agreement applies to your Steam account and purchases. Our terms do not replace it or reduce rights you have against Valve.
2. Your licence to play
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and play the game through an authorised copy for your own entertainment, subject to these terms and Steam’s applicable rules. This licence lasts while you have a valid entitlement and has no separate expiry simply because Early Access ends. It may be ended only as described in section 10 or as permitted by law.
The game and its content remain the property of Symbiosa Games or the relevant rights holders. Buying the game does not transfer intellectual-property rights in its code, art, music, characters or branding. Third-party software remains subject to its own licence terms.
You may not redistribute or sell copies of the game, misrepresent our work as your own, or bypass access controls. Restrictions on modification, decompilation or reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by law; they do not remove mandatory rights, including applicable interoperability exceptions.
3. Steam sign-in and online access
Keeplings is an online game. It needs a supported device, an internet connection, Steam sign-in and access to our servers. There is no offline mode. Steam signs you in, and we maintain the game account and progress associated with your Steam identity. You do not need to create a separate password with us.
Keep your Steam account secure. Do not sell accounts, impersonate another person, or use another person’s account without permission. Let Steam Support and us know if an account compromise affects your game access. You are not automatically responsible for every unauthorised action regardless of the circumstances.
Maintenance, updates and outages can interrupt play. We will give advance notice of planned interruptions where reasonably possible. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, but this does not exclude our obligations to supply a conforming service or provide remedies required by law.
4. Early Access and the reset at version 1.0
Early Access is an unfinished, playable version of Keeplings. Content, balance and features can change during development. Plans and estimated dates describe our intentions; they are not a guarantee that a particular future feature or release date will be delivered. Judge an Early Access purchase by the version available when you buy it.
Gameplay progress earned during Early Access will be wiped at the transition to version 1.0. This includes progression and the Keeplings, items and in-game currency earned through play. We will announce the timing before the reset. Do not buy Early Access expecting this progress to carry into version 1.0.
The reset does not remove your Steam licence or require you to buy the base game again. It is not a request to erase your personal data. Personal-data requests follow the privacy notice. This clause does not waive rights attached to purchases or statutory consumer protections.
5. Fair play and player conduct
You must not:
- Cheat, use bots or unattended gameplay automation, tamper with the client or network to gain an unfair advantage, or deliberately exploit bugs to duplicate creatures, items or currency.
- Attack or disrupt our services, bypass security measures, evade a suspension, or attempt unauthorised access to accounts or data.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against or deliberately scam other players. Do not share another person’s private information or post unlawful material.
- Impersonate staff, submit knowingly false reports, spam, or use the game to advertise unrelated services.
- Buy or sell accounts, creatures, items or in-game currency for real money or outside consideration through unauthorised services.
Ordinary accessibility tools and input remapping are not prohibited merely because they help someone play. They must not automate play or provide an unfair competitive advantage. If you find an exploit, report it privately to us instead of using or distributing it.
6. Creatures, items and trading
Keeplings, items and in-game currency are parts of the game, not bank balances, financial products or a promise of real-world value. We offer no cash redemption. Use the trading features provided in the game and check each trade before confirming it.
We may adjust game rules and balance, and correct progress or transactions affected by a bug, fraud or cheating where reasonably necessary. We will aim to limit the impact on legitimate players. These powers do not permit us to remove paid rights arbitrarily or avoid remedies required by law.
7. Messages, feedback, videos and streams
Only submit names, messages or other content you have the right to share. You keep any rights you hold in your contributions. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, reproduce and display them as needed to run, secure and moderate the game and its community. This is not a transfer of ownership or a general licence to use private messages in advertising.
If you voluntarily suggest an idea or improvement, we may use that suggestion without an obligation to pay or credit you. This does not give us ownership of unrelated work you send us, and you should not submit confidential material you do not want us to consider.
You may publish and monetise gameplay videos, screenshots, reviews and livestreams using your authorised copy. Do not imply that we endorse your content, distribute extracted game assets as a separate product, or include material for which you lack the necessary rights. Separate third-party rights still apply.
8. Moderation and appeals
We may remove offending content, reverse illegitimate gains, restrict features, suspend access or, for serious or repeated violations, end access to the game. Measures should be proportionate to the conduct and its impact. Urgent action may be necessary to protect other players, accounts or services.
We will explain a restriction and how to challenge it unless doing so would compromise an investigation, another person’s privacy or security, or a legal obligation. You can ask for a human review by contacting [email protected], with your Steam identifier and the details of the decision. Do not send your password or authentication codes.
Deleting an account does not automatically cancel a valid sanction. Limited information may be retained to prevent ban evasion as explained in the privacy notice. Moderation does not remove non-waivable refund or other consumer rights.
9. Purchases, refunds and consumer rights
For purchases on Steam, Valve handles the checkout and its applicable purchase and refund terms. Use Steam Support for a purchase-refund request and consult the Steam Refunds policy. You may also contact us about a problem with the game. These terms do not create a blanket “no refunds” rule.
You retain all mandatory rights under applicable consumer law, including rights concerning digital content and services, conformity, necessary updates and withdrawal where applicable. Early Access status does not remove those rights. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, remedies may include bringing the content or service into conformity, a price reduction or termination and reimbursement.
For consumers in France, the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services applies under Articles L. 224-25-12 and following of the Consumer Code where their conditions are met. For continuous supply, conformity is owed during the contractual supply period; the rules for one-off supply differ. Rights against the seller and any rights concerning services we supply remain intact.
10. Updates, changes and ending access
We may provide updates to fix faults, protect security, maintain compatibility, rebalance the game or develop its content. Changes to a continuing digital service must have a valid reason, be supplied without extra cost where the law requires, and follow applicable notice and consumer-protection rules. Where a change negatively affects access or use beyond a minor impact, we will provide the required advance information on a durable medium and any applicable right to end the contract without charge.
We may update these terms for changes to the game, the law or security requirements. We will identify the new version and explain material changes before they take effect, except where urgent changes are legally justified. We will obtain renewed agreement where required. A new term will not retroactively remove rights or resolve an existing dispute in our favour.
You can stop playing at any time. To request deletion of your game account, follow the privacy notice; uninstalling does not itself delete server-side data. We may end your access for a serious or repeated breach under section 8, or where required by law. If we decide to discontinue the online service, we will provide reasonable advance notice where possible and honour applicable contractual and statutory remedies. This is not a promise of perpetual server operation.
11. Responsibility
We are responsible for our breaches and for losses for which the law makes us responsible. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing overrides statutory guarantees or remedies.
Our responsibility for an interruption or loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control is determined by applicable law. A maintenance notice or the fact that the game is online does not, by itself, release us from our obligations.
12. Privacy and disputes
The privacy notice explains how the website and game process personal data. Accepting these terms is not consent to marketing or to every possible use of your data.
French law governs this agreement, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections in their country of habitual residence. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law remain available; you are not required by these terms to bring every claim in France, accept private arbitration or waive collective remedies.
Please contact us first if you want help resolving a problem. Consumers retain access to applicable out-of-court dispute-resolution procedures, including consumer mediation where available, and may still bring a claim before a competent court. If a clause cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining clauses continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
